Mushroom jerky is marinated and dried mushrooms that develop a delicious texture with a good bite, so it's a vegan alternative to beef jerky.
Edgar's Mushroom Jerky is a delicious snack for a hike, in the office, on a sandwich, in a salad or with pasta dishes.
All the mushrooms come from Swiss production. They are grown locally near Affoltern am Albis. Edgars only uses mushrooms from overproduction, or those that are "too ugly" to sell.
So with every pack of Edgars you save mushrooms :)
Unfortunately, Edgars mushroom jerky is not completely sugar-free. However, the proportion of 3.5% is very low. Instead of conventional sugar, we use birnel in Edgars. Birnel is pear syrup from Swiss production and promotes high-stem trees, which in turn is beneficial for the environment and nature.

We are two enterprising young lads who love to be out and about in the mountains. In the mountains, you need three things: a good mood (we always have), stamina (we never will) and awesome snacks (we recently got them).
The usual suspects for snacks on hikes and ski tours are usually heavily over-sugared bars, Landjäger sausages or beef jerky. Since we are trying to reduce our meat and sugar consumption as much as possible, we came up with the idea of making mushrooms into jerky - in other words, a healthy, vegan alternative.
After a few months of recipe research, we had developed a snack that we really enjoyed taking to the mountains. Of course, we let our friends and families try the mushrooms too. When their feedback was also fantastic, the idea for Edgar's Mushroom Jerky was born
