The ideal powdered icing sugar substitute for baking and cooking. The sweetness corresponds to about 70% of the sweetness of sugar, so it may be necessary to adjust the quantities when using it: 1 g powder xucker = approx 0.7 g powdered sugar.
The taste is mildly sweet and most closely resembles sugar of all sugar alcohols. It is therefore very suitable as a sugar substitute for sweets, desserts, pastries and drinks. It is less suitable for making jam because it crystallizes out there. Due to its very good solubility, powder xucker is the only type of erythritol that can be baked without the cracking of crystals in the finished baked goods.
In Japan, erythritol has been used in many foods and medicines since 1990. Diabetics in particular appreciate its absolutely blood sugar-neutral properties. In the USA, erythritol was approved as a food in 1997 and in the EU in 2006 without any quantitative restrictions.
Usage Erythritol Icing Sugar Alternative
Powder xucker is used for low-calorie baking. It is also well suited for making e.g. of icing and generally as a sugar substitute for desserts, pastries and drinks.
Always close the can after use and store in a dry place. Powder xucker tends to clump even if it doesn't get wet. The lumps can be easily broken up.
